She writes like she fights:
no apologies, no filler
Galina Marx Garin is what happens when a philosopher gets tired of everyone’s bullshit. She brews coffee like she’s reviving the dead, punches bags instead of bosses, and mentors improv troupes because someone has to teach spontaneity to a collapsing world. Her theatre plays paint tragically comic characters and makes you wonder what the poiint is. Her debut novel, Distorted Beat, is soaked in the sweat of London heartbreak, the ghost of a Polish Chris Cornell lookalike, and the kind of melodic rage that only Slipknot can properly express. Fluent in tragedy (and soon Arabic), she walks the fine line between intellect and instinct — then kicks it in the teeth.
Fiction, Fire, and Other Dangerous Pursuits
You know that moment when your life is already a hot mess, and then you lock yourself out of your house—with your dog inside—because you're too busy spiraling over an email from your toxic ex? Yeah, that was me. Cue Tomasz, my jogging, annoyingly handsome neighbour with an old school gentleman attitude that would melt anyone’s knickers, who not only rescued my Yorkie but also stuck around to fix my lock and share a beer.
Fast forward a bit: we keep bumping into each other (thanks to his sister and her equally chaotic dog), and before I know it, I’m saying yes to a date. He’s sweet, respectful, and let’s just say very distracting. After two years of (almost) zero physical contact, I may have jumped the gun on taking things to the next level—but hey, no regrets. Except, of course, the part where life decided to remind us we’re both carrying way too much baggage.
My ex wasn’t exactly thrilled with me moving on and went full stalker mode. Meanwhile, Tomasz’s sketchy past started knocking on his door. Throw in a jealous misunderstanding, a random gorgeous woman, and threats involving dogs (who does that?!), and we were suddenly worlds apart. I fled to Ireland for a breather—business trip, family visit, sanity restoration, the works—but let me tell you, trying to run from your problems while pretending not to miss your neighbour-turned-soulmate is not as relaxing as it sounds...

vol. 1: Amy & Tomasz
Distorted Beat
A Steamy Grumpy-Sunshine Romance with Rock, Running, and Redemption
(Hard n’ Heavy Book 1)
Distorted Beat starts it all, slamming together a disaster-prone metalhead and the brooding decathlete next door, with enough emotional wreckage and late-night chaos to crack even the toughest armour.
Love here isn’t neat. It’s hard-earned, bloodied, and loud enough to drown out the past.
